You’re here because you want your child to have a great first sports experience and you’ve come to the right place.
Our Mission: Help every child discover the joy of sports while building the skills that keep them active for life.
Age-appropriate instruction designed for how kids actually learn
Multiple sports exposure so kids build well-rounded athletic skills
Fun, high-energy classes that keep kids engaged and excited
A supportive environment where kids gain confidence while learning
At Beginners Edge Sports Training, we believe the best way for kids to grow as athletes is to learn multiple sports, develop strong fundamentals, and most importantly, have fun.
Research from groups like the Aspen Institute Project Play initiative and the American Academy of Pediatrics shows that kids who try multiple sports when they’re young are more likely to stay active, avoid burnout, and become better athletes over time.
This age group is all about movement, coordination, and having fun being active. Young children are just beginning to understand how their bodies move, so classes focus on simple activities that help them run, jump, balance, kick, and throw.
Parents will participate or facilitate in class as needed for focus, attention, and buddy passes.
At this age, the goal is not competition. The goal is to help kids feel comfortable, confident, and excited about sports and movement.
Kids in this age group begin learning actual sports fundamentals, but still through games and creative activities that keep things exciting.
Children are developing coordination quickly, so classes introduce basic skills like:
*Parents could facilitate as an assistant where needed in order to maximize repetitions. Classes still emphasize fun first, but kids begin to understand simple rules and teamwork.
Parents will notice that their child starts gaining confidence, coordination, and the ability to follow directions within a group activity.
At this stage, kids are ready for more structured sports instruction.
Classes still keep the B.E.S.T. fun energy, but there is a stronger focus on learning how to perform skills correctly and use them in small games.
Children begin learning:
Coaches also begin introducing small-sided games and scrimmages so kids can experience how the skills apply during play.
Kids in this age group often start discovering which sports they enjoy most, while still benefiting from trying multiple sports.
No matter the age group, the mission at Beginners Edge Sports Training remains the same:
Help kids build skills, grow their confidence, and develop a lifelong love of sports and physical activity.
